Vickott Black Int Ltd. is a medical equipment company based in Benin-City, Edo state, Nigeria specializing in the supplies, installation and maintenance of a wide range of hospital equipment, health care products and medical devices from Hospital furniture to specialist equipment in the field of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Anaesthesia, General Surgery etc. Incorporated under the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria in 1981 the company has grown from a local sales & service company to an international importation, nation-wide distribution, installation and maintenance one with a factory for the local production of about 45% of its hospital furniture.
The growth of the company has been steady as it has been phenomenal—thanks to the vision of the founding Managing Director who, having trained and worked abroad in some high brow biomedical institutions and factories, decided to replicate the enterprise in Nigeria and grow it to such height as to train, educate and expand the medical equipment field by liaising with top manufacturers for supply of modern and high tech equipment constantly backed up with up-to-date maintenance skills.
SCOPE OF WORK DONE
The company is now a well known name in the Medical field particularly in the South South, South East and South West zones of Nigeria and have had the privilege of having amongst its clientele the Ministries of Health Edo, Delta, Cross Rivers & Imo States. Others include the University Teaching Hospital Benin, Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Federal Medical Centres Owo, Asaba, Abakaliki, Owerri, NNPC, Petroleum Training Institute Effurun, Delta State Steel Company Ovwian/Alaja, Psychiatric Hospital Uselu, Nigerian Shippers Council clinics Abuja &. Lagos, National Hospital Abuja, UCH (University college Hospital) Ibadan, OAUTHC (Obaferni Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex) Ile-Ife, South Atlantic Petroleum Company, Nassarawa State University Hospital Keffi’ and a host of other government and private hospitals.
Apart from usual and routine supplies to numerous Teaching hospitals, Government Tertiary and Specialist institutions; we have collaborated with a number of states in Nigeria for the execution of WHO assisted projects like Primary Health Care and Infectious Diseases outbreak control.
With a very moderate staff strength we parade one of the best crew of Biomedical Technicians led by a renowned Instrument/Biomedical Engineer as our MD/CEO. More than 60% of our staff are technically inclined giving us the leverage to execute or manufacturers’ warranty and cover our wide range after-sales-services. We have had the privilege of carrying out installation of medical oxygen
Pipelines in a number of private and government hospitals. We currently have ongoing equipment service and routine maintenance contracts with 78 Hospitals as at September 2015.

We have taken our quest for excellence in Anaesthesia, Respiration and Resuscitation to Canada from Where we import anaesthetic and I.C.U Ventilator units comparable to any from Europe and the rest of the World but less expensive, easy to maintain and with a lot of technical back-up. This has further expanded the scope of our coverage of the affordability and warranty of these equipment and it is hoped that a local assembly plant will be set up for these products in the very near future in collaboration with Collins Medical of Canada.

Equipment imported and distributed by Vickott Black are covered by manufacturers’ one year warranty backed by free routine service during the warranty period. We also offer after-sales-service contracts at the expiration of warranty period and service spare parts to last for 5 years especially for routine service are stocked for every product in our range.

We attend regularly medical conferences and exhibitions all over the world (like Arab Health, Dubai, German Medica, Dusseldorf, Africa Health, Johannesburg, South Africa, CMEF China, Medic West Africa, Lagos and FIME, Florida, USA) where product updates, seminars and bio-medical engineering training are offered and this enables us to keep pace with the ever-changing and forever improving technology of medical equipment and devices.
